The Civilian Joint Task Force, aka Civilian JTF has dealt a big blow on Boko Haram as 41 members of the terrorist sect were reportedly beheaded by the group.
The insurgents attacked Sabon Gari village, in the Damboa Local Government Area of the state on Thursday, October 30, but were overpowered by soldiers and members of the Civilian JTF in Biu.
The battle between the two groups was said to have lasted about two hours before the terrorists were defeated and beheaded and their heads impaled on sticks while members of the community rejoiced.
A member of the Civilian JTF, Umar Hassan confirmed the incident saying:
“We beheaded the insurgents after the shootout which lasted for about two hours and took their heads to Biu to show the people that the Boko Haram insurgents are human and not beasts and so, people should not fear them but instead, join hands with us and security operatives to ensure that the sect members who are enemies of Islam and the people of Nigerians are defeated.”
Meanwhile, the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has appeared in a new video dismissing claims of a ceasefire agreement with the Nigerian government and the sect.
